The Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) has been recognized as an Information Sharing Hall of Fame Award Winner in the organization category for their commitment to advancing information sharing among organizations and their overall impact on the information sharing ecosystem.
“Having a strong commitment to advancing information sharing is a vital aspect of cybersecurity defense plans,” said Dr. Greg White, executive director of the ISAO Standards Organization. “By winning this award, TNO is recognized as an excellent example of how information sharing and analysis organizations can continually create a more secure, connected and informed ecosystem.”
The ISAO Standards Organization award ceremony for the 4th Annual Information Sharing Hall of Fame Awards was held virtually on Wednesday, September 30 at the International Information Sharing Conference. These awards recognize those individuals and organizations who have demonstrated the highest standards of professional competence and selflessness and have contributed significantly to the promotion of the information sharing ecosystem.
“It is amazing to hear that TNO’s work on cybersecurity information sharing is internationally appreciated: we strive to build a strong and innovative ISAO community in The Netherlands that will sustain for decades to come,” said Petra Vermeulen, Project Manager Cybersecurity Information Sharing at TNO. “This acknowledgement is a real motivation to continue our work in this field.”
Since 2017, there have been efforts in The Netherlands to help cybersecurity information sharing for the business community in non-vital sectors. In cooperation with the Dutch government, through the Digital Trust Center, TNO has conducted innovative research into cybersecurity information sharing, with the aim of providing support to the Digital Trust Center and its target groups in setting up, developing and improving cybersecurity information sharing.
“TNO’s applied research on information sharing has enabled Dutch SMEs to strategically think about their information sharing ambitions and operations,” added Tom van Schie, project team member at TNO. “Together with the Dutch government, TNO has set up practical information and information sharing methods to support constituency in developing regional and sectoral information sharing communities.”
TNO analyzes various aspects of cybersecurity information sharing, which include forms of interaction, roles and tasks, classification of participants, types of cybersecurity information, platforms and more. Their research into these aspects recently led to a step-by-step analysis of cybersecurity information sharing within a business community, which can be reviewed in the “Information sharing within the chain – Method” on their website at TNO.nl.
