The Information Sharing Hall of Fame Awards recognize individuals and companies who have demonstrated the highest standards of professional competence and selflessness and have contributed significantly to the promotion of the information sharing ecosystem.
The ISAO Standards Organization (ISAO SO) held the Information Hall of Fame Awards ceremony on Wednesday, September 30 at the virtual 2020 International Information Sharing Conference.
The ISAO SO recognized the Netherlands Organisation (TNO) for the Organizational category and David Turetsky, a professor of practice at the College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity at the University at Albany, by inducting them into the Information Sharing Hall of Fame.
Turetsky was nominated, in part, for his positive attitude and continuous efforts to actively engage the information sharing community, and hard work in improving the cybersecurity posture across the Nation. In addition to being a working group co-chair to produce ISAO SO documents that provide guidance to new and emerging ISAOs, Turetsky actively collaborates with others to research, publish and present insights on information sharing successes.
“Information sharing is a crucial tool to improve cybersecurity, so this recognition is a real honor,” said Turetsky. “Having had the opportunity to work closely with the community of Information Sharing and Analysis Centers, Information Sharing and Analysis Organizations (ISAOs), the ISAO SO and the government over the years, I very much appreciate the important work they do. Being recognized by a community doing such important work is special to me.”
Since 2017, there have been efforts in The Netherlands to help cybersecurity information sharing for the business community in non-vital sectors. In cooperation with the Dutch government, TNO has conducted innovative research into cybersecurity information sharing, with the aim of providing support to the Digital Trust Center and its target groups in setting up, developing and improving cybersecurity information sharing.
“It is amazing to hear that TNO’s work on cybersecurity information sharing is internationally appreciated: we strive to build a strong and innovative ISAO community in The Netherlands that will sustain for decades to come,” said Petra Vermeulen, Project Manager Cybersecurity Information Sharing at TNO. “This acknowledgement is a real motivation to continue our work in this field.”
The ISAO Standards Organization (ISAO SO) held the Information Hall of Fame Awards ceremony on Thursday, August 22 at the 2019 International Information Sharing Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
